New 140,390 sq. ft. Public Library and Operations Center on 15 acres. Facility includes a 44,380 sq. ft. library, 9,390 sq. ft. auditorium, 66,225 sq. ft. of office/administration space and a 20,395 sq. ft. service center. The library features an art gallery, conference rooms/meeting spaces, a children’s area with story rooms, a used bookstore, and a vending area. The offices and service center house centralized administrative support and material processing functions for the Clark County Library District.
The modern structure utilizes both sustainable design and construction practices. It has been designed to achieve LEED Gold Certification. Regional building materials and water efficient irrigation systems will be utilized in addition to an efficient use of day lighting, minimizing the need for overhead or other lights. The Library will provide a 103.5 KWDC solar photovoltaic system producing 12.5% of energy demand.
