Valley Electric Association is a nonprofit electric utility company with headquarters in Pahrump, Nevada. Their service adheres to the c-op principles of doing business. Their service area comprises 6,800 square miles of land along the California-Nevada border.

Project was for 3-Phase site improvements and building renovations and expansion within their 11.6 acre campus. Project was comprised of three facilities as follows:

New 2-story Dispatch Building = 33, 380 sq. ft.
Conversion of an existing Engineering building into a multi-purpose Conference Center = 6,600 sq. ft.
Renovation of an existing Administrative Building = 16,400 sq. ft.
Site design included new parking lots for Dispatch Building and Conference Center, security fencing and access control.
The construction project included four phases, beginning with the addition of new parking areas on the campus. The second phase encompassed the construction of a new, 33,120 sq. ft. operations, dispatch and engineering building. The new building features a variety of energy-efficient technologies, including a self-contained geothermal system for heating and cooling. In addition to a conference room, offices, storage areas and other traditional office features, the building provides VEA and its members with a state-of-the-art dispatch center.

The third phase of the project included renovations to the lobby of VEA’s administration building. The renovation provides members with a redesigned lobby featuring an additional bathroom and a hallway to the new operations, dispatch and engineering building.

The final phase focused on transforming VEA’s existing engineering building into the Valley Conference Center, a fully equipped 6,600-square-foot facility that provides the community with a spacious venue for meetings, concerts and a wide variety of other events. VEA also plans to use the facility for large, company wide meetings and training sessions.
