The brand new 16,885 SF elementary school houses 14 classrooms, a multi-media library, multi-purpose room, kitchen, and administrative offices in addition to an outdoor playground and learning garden.

For this K-5 charter school, the MHC Project Team assisted the Owner in changing the design to better accommodate site conditions. MHC was able to provide several options. While cost effectively meeting the challenging civil conditions, the Owner-Architect-Contractor team changed the design from asphalt to pavers for the playgrounds and concrete for the parking surface. The solution increased the overall aesthetic appeal of the school while providing an optimal drainage system. In addition, the new design resulted in cooler surfaces for outdoor activities on the playground and events in the parking lot such as fundraisers.
