OGDEN TOWER (FORMERLY STREAMLINE TOWER)

The Ogden (formerly called Streamline Tower) is a mixed-use, 22-story development in Downtown Las Vegas. Residential units start on the 8th floor and sit on top of the 7 levels of secure, above-ground parking. Amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center on the 15th floor, and clubhouse and conference room on the 16th, and a rooftop pool.

Preconstruction Services for this project began in 2004, when Martin-Harris was retained to direct design planning. We began site logistics and planning by identifying and mitigating potential risks and many challenges associated with a $100M, high-rise project built on zero lot line in a busy downtown.

The demolition of the existing buildings to make way for the new tower involved the rerouting of main feeder electrical lines from overhead to underground while maintaining service to the surrounding businesses. The new lines had to navigate under the oldest part of the city and cross wooden pipe sections of existing sewer, gas, telephone and water lines. The sanitary sewer, water line, and fire feeds were run from the northeast from approximately 3 city blocks away, crossing similar complications including main utilities feeding the El Cortez Casino and several other properties.

Interior finish options were so numerous that we hired an Upgrades Coordinator to manage all of the Owner selections. Our teams performed concrete pours of 250 to 300 cubic yards 3 times each week with a focus on worker safety. Total self-performance man hours came to 99,276.
