HOOVER DAM SPILLWAY HOUSE

The architectural intent of this expansion was for it to appear as if it were a part of the original structure and complement other downtown City Buildings. The existing 3-story building contained an active detention center, five active courtrooms, offices, a law library and conference rooms. MHC completed the addition of 52,000 SF of space and build out of four additional courtrooms, five judicial chambers and office space for the Henderson City Attorney’s Office, Clerk of Court and several other court programs. A glass-enclosed stair tower facilitates the transition between the courtroom module and the office environment.

The project also included the new construction of a five-level 400-stall precast parking structure, a high security Judges’ parking lot, a Marshall’s station and all associated site work.

The first phase involved establishing the security fence yard perimeter for corrections department operations including the removal of and relocation of existing high security detention fencing and security equipment. The site demolition was then completed, followed by the parking garage and expansion construction.
