Getto Transportation Center Modernization

The Getto Transportation Center Modernization Project transforms an aging operations yard into a modern, efficient transportation hub serving district-wide fleet operations. Guided by the 2020 Transportation Master Plan, the project includes a new 36,396 SF pre-engineered metal building that consolidates school bus and white fleet maintenance shops, administrative offices, training rooms, parts storage, tire storage, breakroom facilities, and a mechanical mezzanine. Site improvements include demolition of outdated structures, new above-ground fueling storage and stations, a dedicated bus wash bay, and infrastructure designed to support future EV charging. A new, more secure school bus parking area enhances safety, traffic flow, and operational control across the site. Constructed in three phases to maintain continuous operations, the project began in July 2023 and the final phase, focused on school bus parking, is currently underway and scheduled for completion in summer 2026.
