Building HER Future: MHC Sponsors UNLV and UNR Students at the Business of HER Conference

At Martin-Harris Construction, we believe building the future starts with investing in people. This September, we proudly assisted launching the Building HER Future in Nevada Grant, sending students from UNLV and UNR to attend the Business of HER Conference alongside women from MHC who are making an impact in their own careers. The conference took place on November 15, 2025, at SAHARA Las Vegas.

The grant is designed to empower the next generation of female leaders by giving students direct access to mentorship, guidance, and inspiration. By participating in the conference, these students were able to connect with women who are already leading in their fields — gaining insights into leadership, confidence, and career growth that will serve them well long after the event.

“The Business of HER Conference is all about women supporting women, and that aligns perfectly with our vision for this program,” said Guy Martin, President of Martin-Harris Construction. “By providing students with this experience, we’re not only investing in their futures but also in the future of Nevada’s workforce and communities.”

The Business of HER Conference highlights the many facets of women’s success, from careers and finances to mentorship and community. For the students who attended, it was an opportunity to see themselves reflected in leaders making an impact today, and to imagine their own paths forward.

In addition to personal growth, the grant also gave students a closer look at the diverse career and leadership opportunities within construction. As an industry historically underrepresented by women, construction offers exciting potential for young leaders to bring fresh perspectives and shape the future.

The day was filled with energy, connection, and inspiration, as our UNLV and UNR students joined women from MHC in the room, it was clear: Nevada’s future is HER future. To learn more about the 2026 Business of HER Conference, you can visit their website.
