Big Top Food Court and Auric Symphony Park Win at the NCA Contractor of the Year Awards

The Nevada Contractors Association (NCA) Contractor of the Year Awards is an annual event to honor the Las Vegas Valley’s best general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and professional service providers. The most impressive and prestigious projects, industry leaders and innovations in building, as chosen by association members, are recognized.

Martin-Harris Construction is thrilled that 2 of our projects have received recognition.

Big Top Food Court at Circus Circus Hotel & Casino

Building Project of the Year (under $15 million)

The new, 15,000 SF, multi-million-dollar, Big Top Food Court offers 4 dining concepts: Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Pick Up Stix Asian kitchen, Dairy Queen Grill & Chill restaurant, and Einstein Bros Bagels restaurant. Architect, Bergman Walls & Associates, reinventing the existing footprint to achieve an open floor plan with an interior design concept that fits with the overall circus theme.

Built in 1968, Circus Circus Hotel & Casino has seen countless renovations over the years, and, like many older resorts in similar situations, reliable as-built documents for the property did not exist. To fully understand the spaces that would be demolished and rebuilt, Martin-Harris took an exploratory approach to preconstruction and worked closely with the Owner and Design Team to develop a phased plan for the demolition, infrastructure and build-out. This approach gave us the ability to quickly make changes as we came across obstacles while continuing the work in other locations.

Auric Symphony Park Luxury Residences

Building Project of the Year (over $30 million)

Auric Symphony Park is a mixed-use project by Southern Land Company that transformed an uninhabited brownfield site into the vibrant, residential center of Symphony Park in downtown Las Vegas. The 480,000 SF, three-to-five story project consists of 324 luxury apartment homes and 21,000 SF of ground-level retail and restaurant space. The robust amenities package includes a resort-style pool with two-story cabanas and an outdoor bar, a rooftop bar overlooking Symphony Park, a pet park and grooming area, a resident lounge, 24-hour concierge service, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

The large development was constructed during the pandemic so Martin-Harris, the Design Team, and our Subcontractor and Vendors had to quickly adapt to the challenges; such as keeping workers safe and healthy and managing disruptions in the global supply chain. Collaboration was key to delivering the quality the Owners required. The project also received LEED Certified level in December 2022.
