6th Annual
National Veteran Small Business Conference
The Veteran Small Business Federal Interagency Council has succeeded in providing yet another extremely valuable conference. The 6th Annual National Veteran Small Business Conference was highly informative and educational, with well thought-out sessions and excellent guest speakers. Representatives from Martin-Harris Construction were pleased to be able to attend and further MHC’s strategic efforts in the Federal sector. We were also pleased to see a number of our subcontractors and business partners at the event and to have the opportunity to meet new contacts.
If you are a Disadvantaged or Veteran owned business and are interested in MHC’s Subcontractor Opportunity Program, please contact MHC’s Federal Programs Director, Cher Kight at 702-474-8227.

Southwest Library and Service Center
Martin-Harris has begun construction of the latest Las Vegas-Clark County Library District project on the 15-acre site along Rainbow Blvd. and Windmill Ln. The project encompasses a 27,096 square-foot library (with an additional 11,342 square-feet for future growth) and a 86,617 square-foot service center which will house centralized administrative support functions and a materials processing center.
JMA Architecture has designed the project to be a modern structure which utilizes both sustainable design and construction practices through passive design, and optimize energy 35% above ASHRAE standards, daylighting, indoor air quality and water efficiency. The Library will provide a 103.5 KWDC solar photovoltaic system producing 12.5% of energy demand.
When completed, this facility will be seeking LEED™ Gold Certification
